Kelly Clarkson broke down in tears during The Voice on Monday night when contestant Stephanie Skipper performed one of her songs.
Nashville singer Stephanie delivered a moving cover of Clarkson's 2015 song "Piece by Piece," which is about how Kelly's husband, Brandon Blackstock, restored her faith in men after Kelly was abandoned by her father at a young age.
Stephanie, 33, told Kelly she sang the song because she also grew up without her dad.
Her performance left coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine turning their chairs, but even though she liked the performance Kelly didn't press her button.
It wasn't long before she started to regret her decision.
"I'm so sad," Kelly said. "I know this is embarrassing, I'm crying. I'm so mad I didn't turn."
"The fact that you picked that song, it's cool," she added, wiping away tears.
Stephanie said: "Kelly, I have to say thank you for writing that song because it means a lot to me and it means something in my world."
Kelly apologized for not turning around but Stephanie was just excited to be on the stage.
I'm so mad I didn't turn.
She said: "You don't have to apologize. I'm on the show, girl," before Kelly ran on stage to give her a hug.
She told Stephanie: "I'm so thankful you sang that song because it means a lot to me."
Since Kelly didn't turn, the hopeful singer then had to choose between Adam and Blake.
"This is really hard," she said. "It's a tough decision but I pick Adam."
After seeing Kelly's softer side, fans love the Grammy winner even more.
They took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the emotional moment between Kelly and Stephanie.
