This video of Santa using sign language with a deaf girl is emosh!

Tis the season to be joyfully tearful

| Updated:

One little girl’s trip to see Santa Claus was made extra special when the two began communicating in sign language.

In a scene reminiscent of the classic Miracle on 34th Street, three-year-old Mali Williams-Cody sat on Father Christmas’s lap.

But when he asked her what she’d like for Christmas, Mali’s mum explained she couldn’t talk very well.

The unfazed Santa, who was meeting children in Middlesbrough’s Cleveland Centre, then asked if she could sign.

The two held a short but sweet conversation in sign language – which left a huge grin on Mali’s face.

And, luckily for us lot, the whole adorable exchange was caught on video:

Mali’s mother Suzanne Williams said: “It was an amazing moment. Mali was smiling for ages afterwards.”

The video, filmed last December, has been watched hundreds of thousands of times on YouTube.

The Cleveland Centre also shared it on their Facebook page, with people commenting that the video had moved them to tears.

A spokesman for the shopping centre said: “Santa wants to make sure every child who visits really does experience what this time of year is all about.

“Santa will take his time with each and every child and will try and put a smile on their faces.

“Santa has been coming to the Cleveland Centre for four years now and this has got to be the most truly amazing few minutes we have experienced.”
