Victoria Beckham breaks her silence as Spice Girls announce tour without her

She's not joining her former bandmates for the tour

Victoria Beckham has sent her well-wishes to her former Spice Girls bandmates after it was announced the band will kick off a six-date UK stadium tour in June next year in Manchester as a four-piece.

In a video shared on the band’s newly-created Twitter account, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton are seen in a mock news broadcast, confirming the details of their tour.

It was previously known that fashion designer Victoria would not be joining her former bandmates for their comeback tour, and she was absent from the clip.

However, she wished her former bandmates good luck on their series of concerts in a statement.

Victoria said: “Being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish my girls so much love and fun as they go back on tour, I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time!”

The Spice Girls will first perform on June 1 at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, before heading to the Coventry Ricoh Arena on June 3 and Sunderland Stadium Of Light on June 5.

They will perform at the Edinburgh BT Murrayfield Stadium on June 8, the Bristol Ashton Gate Stadium on June 10 and London’s Wembley Stadium on June 15.

Singer Jess Glynne will join the Spice Girls as a “very special guest”.

Tickets will be on sale for the tour on Saturday at 10.30am.

In a joint statement, the Spice Girls said: “We are beyond excited to be reuniting next year for a stadium tour.

“Bringing girl power and our message of friendship and love back to the stage feels more relevant than ever. We hope everyone can join us for one big Spice Girls party!”

The Spice Girls, formed in 1994 and one of the most successful acts of the decade, have not performed together since the London Olympics closing ceremony in 2012, and they last toured together 10 years ago.

The group previously performed as a four-piece for two years after Geri quit the band in 1998.

The group went on hiatus in 2000 after recording their third album Forever, and are best known for their hits including Wannabe, 2 Become 1 and Spice Up Your Life.

In February this year, all five members of the group met up and confirmed plans to work on new projects together.

In July, Mel B confirmed they would reunite this year, but said that one member of the group had been holding up proceedings.
