Ryan Thomas and Tina O’Brien have revealed their very different stance on one aspect of parenting, during a funny exchange on social media.
The former couple share a daughter, Scarlett, nine, who spent yesterday getting pampered with her mum at a beauty salon.

Scarlett and Tina had matching manicure and pedicures done, with Coronation Street’s Tina sharing a photo to her Instagram from the girly day out.
It showed the pair’s newly-painted toe nails with the caption: “Mum and daughter treat. My best friend and first true love.”
She added hashtags including “matching pedis” and “love”.
Well, Tina may have loved it, but Scarlett’s dad Ryan didn’t seem as thrilled about his daughter’s fancy new nails!
Former Corrie star Ryan later shared a photo of his own to Instagram, this time showing Scarlett having the nail polish taken OFF!
His snap showed Scarlett staring at the camera while a beautician removed the polish on her fingernails.
The caption included an angry face emoji and the words: “So mummy puts nail varnish on, daddy takes it off.”

Ryan’s girlfriend, Lucy Mecklenburgh, was among the many people who commented, telling her other half he was “so mean” for taking away Scarlett’s treat.
Tina, however, appeared to see the funny side, and responded in Ryan’s comments by tagging in Lucy and joking: “Don’t worry the three of us can go next time and get matching nails and tattoos.”
But Ryan quickly replied: “You and Lucy can go Scarlett can stay with me!”
And just so nobody got the wrong idea, when one follower suggested Ryan’s initial remark was a “dig” at Tina, his brother Adam jumped in to assure them: “I’m sure it wasn’t a dig at anyone.”
The whole exchange did spark a debate among followers over whether there is a ‘right’ age to start playing with nail polish.
Some agreed with Ryan that Scarlett was too young, while others said plenty of little girls like playing dress-up and copying their mums, and it was harmless.
Others suggested perhaps Scarlett’s school doesn’t allow nail polish, which is why it had to be removed.
Meanwhile, fellow soap star Gary Lucy, best known for playing Luke Morgan in Hollyoaks, chimed in to tell Ryan he fully understood what he’s going through!
Gary, who has a young daughter, told him: “Yep I feel your pain wait till the make up starts.”

Ryan and Tina split in 2009.
Neighbours star Ryan has gone on to find love with former TOWIE favourite Lucy, while Tina got engaged in 2016 to businessman Adam Crofts after a five-year romance.
Tina and Adam have one child together, son Beau, born in 2014.
