Fans of The View got a treat Monday as former co-host Sherri Shepherd returned to the table for a two-day stint.
Sherri, who appeared on the show from 2007 to 2014, jumped right into Hot Topics as if she had never left. She didn't hesitate to share her opinions on everything from the new film 50 Shades Freed to the #MeToo movement.
And it didn't take long before she faced off with conservative co-host Meghan McCain over, what else? President Trump.
Sherri argued that she didn't understand how evangelical Christians could support Trump, saying, "This is what I don't understand about the evangelicals. I'm a Christian here."
She continued, "When you see a president not showing compassion and endorsing the other people, how can you say that Jesus is for this?
"I don't understand it. ... People are saying that he is ordained to be in this White House."
That seemed to hit a nerve with Meghan, who retorted, "My in-laws are evangelical and they're certainly not saying anything like that."
Throughout the rest of the conversation, Sherri regarded Meghan with a bold side-eye.
Many fans of The View were thrilled to have Sherri back, even if only for a short while. One fan wrote, "Miss you so much," while another suggested, "They need her back permanently."

But not everyone was rejoicing over her return. A number of fans tweeted their displeasure about seeing her on the show again.
Please tell me it was a "1 day only" return!!

I can’t believe you brought back Sherri after she trashed the show when she was fired!
