Just another day for them in Paradise...

| Updated:

We may know the name of the designers our favourite celebrities wear on the red carpet and their latest dieting trends, but we don’t always know where they like to go on holiday.

When it comes to top class breaks, no one does them better than celebrities. From dining at the world’s most exquisite restaurants to livin’ it up on a remote picturesque island, celebs know precisely how to unwind in the most luxurious spots.

As ED! takes a sneak peek at some of the most lavish celebrity getaway locations, prepare yourself for significant wanderlust…

Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands

Owned by mega-entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson, Necker Island is on the top of most celebrities’ holiday lists, and supermodel Kate Moss and Academy Award winner Kate Winslet are among the island’s A-list guests. Necker Island provides an all-encompassing luxury experience: offering daytime excursions to surrounding islands; on-site spa treatments; snorkeling and scuba diving lessons.

It’s not just about the perks, though, because this socially conscious venture has put many admirable initiatives in place to help enhance the local community. These include experimenting with wind power to supplement the island’s energy requirements and supporting the local community through Branson’s entrepreneurial enterprise, Virgin Unite.

Located on what’s described as the ‘southeastern shores of Hawaii’s last unspoiled island’, the Four Season Resort Lanai is the go-to location for the likes of Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry. Between the breathtaking sea views, the private helicopter tour, and hula and ukulele lessons, guests are guaranteed to get an immersive insight into true Hawaiian culture.

The 90,000-acre private island of Lanai also attracts green turtles and humpback whales, making it the perfect location for celebrity guests looking to get close to nature in its purest form.

Amal and George Clooney and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are just some of the celebrities that consider this private island worthy enough for a honeymoon destination. The island’s remote location and impenetrable parameter makes it the perfect paparazzi-free zone.

In addition to its 11 villas, this £5,000/night locale is home to an open-air restaurant, plunge pool, beautiful beaches, white sand and palm trees. If all of this wasn’t enough, the island has also received a National Geographic World Legacy Award for its efforts preserving its natural habitat. Kudos.

Lake Como in Italy

Holding the title of Italy’s third-largest lake, Lake Como is a spectacular retreat that offers adventure and quaint villas. Footballers Chris Smalling and Wayne Rooney are well-known for enjoying the fantastic offerings of the town, which include the super-luxurious Villa d’Este. Its 16th-century Renaissance structure provides a sprinkling of pure class and the iconic floating pool in one of a kind. George Clooney loves it so much, he owns a place there!

The Los Cabos resorts also offer maximum privacy and discretion, making it the ideal place to escape the media. The £1,200 per night Esperanza Hotel is a favourite for many celebs, including Chris Martin, who all take full advantage of the renowned private beach and spectacular oceanfront infinity pool.
