Tara Palmer-Tomkinson’s devastated family release details of death

Socialite died at the age of 45 this week

Tara Palmer-Tomkinson “died peacefully in her sleep”, her family has confirmed.

The socialite and TV personality, who had been battling a brain tumour since being diagnosed last January , was found dead at her London home on Wednesday .

And on Friday, Tara’s family posted a death notice on page 26 of Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper, which read: “Tara Clare died peacefully in her sleep”.

The notice also revealed that a private funeral will be held for the 45-year-old in due course.

Just one day after Tara’s death was announced, her sister Santa Montefiore took to her social media to share a black and white picture of the late star, writing: “My darling sister. I miss you.”

Her brother-in-law Simon Sebag Montefiore also paid his respects on Twitter, writing alongside another picture of the socialite: “Thinking about my ‘supersonic’ sister-in-law Tara Palmer-Tomkinson & the vanishing of her exuberant idiosyncratic unforgettable presence.”

Last year, Tara revealed she was suffering from the tumour after undergoing blood tests due to feeling unwell the previous summer.

Dubbed an ‘It Girl’ in the 1990s due to her celebrity lifestyle and her family’s close connection to the British Royal Family, she had a career as a newspaper columnist and also starred in a number of British reality TV shows, including I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
