Many of us have nothing but sympathy for Susanna Reid having to put up with Piers Morgan day in, day out on Good Morning Britain.

The 46-year-old was once described as the “most tolerant woman on TV” for keeping Piers, 52, in check as they co-host the ITV breakfast show.

But how does Susanna REALLY feel about her irksome co-star?

Well, unsurprisingly the answer is a) he’s annoying and b) he drives her nuts, but on a more surprising level, the journalist said it all made for an “exhilarating” working environment.

In a new interview with Prima magazine, Susanna said: “He totally wound me up from the moment he joined Good Morning Britain, nearly two years ago.”

She added: “He’s the most annoying man I’ve ever met, but I find working with him exhilarating.

“Yes, he drives me nuts, but he also makes me laugh – and when the chips are down, and there’s a big news story breaking or we’re doing a controversial interview with a politician, I trust him.”

Susanna insisted she’ll never “snap” when it comes to Piers – even if some viewers may be tuning in just to see if she ever reaches breaking point!

“I’ve learned to handle Piers just as he’s learned to handle me,” she said.

The mum of three also insisted her “combative” relationship with Piers wasn’t just for the cameras, saying how they are on GMB is a true reflection of their daily relationship when the show isn’t filming.

So in other words, exhausting for Susanna!

It’s not the first time Susanna’s shared what it’s really like to work with Piers – it’s a question she’s been asked many, many times before!

She once told OK! she only truly understood the phrase “love / hate relationship” when she met Piers, quipping: “I both love him and hate him at the same time.”

In another interview with Fabulous magazine, Susanna admitted to sometimes wanting to “poke him in the eye”. Ouch.

“Sometimes I will tell him if I think he’s gone too far and he’ll say, ‘If that’s how it made you feel, I’m sorry’,” she said.

“We couldn’t do what we do on air unless we have those conversations. Behind the scenes there’s a lot of mutual respect.

“I hope I show that I’m no pushover. I don’t think Piers is in any doubt that I can stand up for myself.”

And she told The Guardian: “I think people like the fact I stand up to him, call him out on it. I always say I would never talk about Piers in any way other than how I would speak to his face.”

Keep up the good work, Susanna!
