The Scottish presenter joked and said: “We’ll keep talking and see you tomorrow, cheers.”

Viewers felt sorry for Tess who was in the middle of a sentence when she was cut off.

One said: “@ITVLorraine wow that was an abrupt end to the show poor @TessDaly cut off #lorraine”, followed by a laughing emoji.

During the chat, Tess was talking about the new Strictly Come Dancing head judge, Shirley Ballas.

The 48-year-old said: “I think Bruno knows her as she works on Dancing with the Stars.

“Shirley has worked over there. She’s well known to the American audience. I can’t wait to see another lady.

“Her credentials are unshakeable.”

Tess is excited about having another lady on the panel, and she’ll join Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood.

She joked: “I think she’s going to keep the two boys under control, especially that naughty one at the end… Bruno, naming no names.”

Before being cut short, Tess said that she’d be up for competing on the dancing competition but “couldn’t be in two places at once”.

She added: “I do watch the celebrities and watch them blossom and think, ‘Oh, I’d love to be able to do that’… Come on Anton, give me a twirl!”
