Strictly’s Gemma Atkinson reveals truth behind Gorka and Ryan Giggs rumours

Clearing up the constant rumours

| Updated:

Gemma Atkinson has firmly denied rumours that she’s dating Strictly Come Dancing co-star Gorka Marquez or retired footballer Ryan Giggs.

The ex Emmerdale star has been linked to both men over the last few months, despite her frequent insistence that she’s single.

She was pictured having lunch with Ryan last week and sharing a goodbye hug.

Then over the weekend, pictures surfaced of her ‘kissing’ dance pro Gorka after they met up for Strictly’s live tour rehearsals in London.

Though, we reckon it looks more like a friendly kiss on the cheek than anything more…

And it seems like we’re right, as Gemma once again insisted she’s single during an interview on today’s Sunday Brunch.

Gemma was interviewed by her former Strictly co-star Simon Rimmer and Tim Lovejoy, with the latter bringing up the Ryan Giggs rumours.

Laughing, Gemma said: “Yes, that’s the next one [I’m dating]. I can’t keep up!”

“I’ve known Ryan since I was 18 and I’m not in a relationship with him at all!”

She’d already confirmed that via Instagram. when she posted a photo of her with Ryan and pals, saying: “To the pap who’s just taken sneaky pictures of myself & Ryan. I know you have a job to do but before you say ‘we were alone and we’re dating’.

“There’s a group of us having a New Year’s brunch at his restaurant with staff because we are all MATES and have been for 14 years!!!”

Gemma went on to say that basically, unless she comes out and confirms a romance, she’s just constantly linked to people, which can be a tad frustrating.

“Unless you put out who you are dating or where you are going… I think you’re forced to sometimes go, ‘I’m with this person’ and they leave you alone. But if you’re genuinely not with anyone…”

Simon then brought up the constant Gorka rumours, saying: “One of my favourite pictures was you and Gorka supposedly on a romantic night out. And I’m there. There are about 17 of us. You can see my arm in the picture.”

Gemma agreed: “We were all at a table and it’s clever how they crop people.”
