Strictly Come Dancing’s Joe McFadden confirms he’s leaving Holby

And he doesn't mind if he's killed off

Joe McFadden has announced that he’s leaving Holby City after playing Dr Raffaello ‘Raf’ Di Lucca in the BBC drama since 2013.

But instead of asking BBC bosses to keep the door open for him to return one day, he’s revealed that he doesn’t mind if his character is sensationally killed off.

Joe told The Daily Star On Sunday, “Holby has been brilliant. They gave me the time off to do Strictly but sadly everything comes to an end.

“I just think that having done this show, there’s other stuff out there.”

And it seems that performing live every Saturday night on Strictly has given Joe a taste of what he’d like to do next, as he’s keen to delve into theatre and musicals.

With a future in musicals potentially on the cards for Joe, the actor has revealed he’d love his exit from Holby to be as dramatic as the writers can make it… “It would be nice to have the big exit… even if it means being killed off.

“Obviously, a big stunt would be brilliant.”

Joe has been wowing viewers with his dancing skills since this series of Strictly began.

From the beginning he has been labelled the dark horse of the series by judges, and they’ve all agreed that he is getting better and better as the weeks go by.

Last night’s show saw Joe impress the judges with a speedy quickstep with dance partner Katya Jones.

Shirley Ballas was so impressed with the couples dance that she awarded them a score of ten after claiming their routine was “perfect”, propelling them to the top of the leaderboard.

The pair scored a total of 38 after dancing to Jumpin’ Jack by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. But after coming second in the Paso Doble-thon, they were awarded another six points, leaving them with a grand total of 44.
