Stephanie Davis slammed after asking fans to donate money to cousin who needs life-saving treatment

Charley has cerebral palsy and needs treatment in America

Reality star Stephanie Davis has been criticised after asking fans to donate money to her cousin, Charley, who needs life-saving treatment, instead of paying for it herself.

Four-year-old Charley has cerebral palsy and needs treatment to fight the life-threatening condition.

Mum-of-one Steph made a plea to her fans to help raise £25K in order to send Charley to California to receive stem cell treatment.

She shared a link of the JustGiving page alongside a message on Twitter. She said: “If everyone could please take a minute to read and make a little donation to my cousin I would be so greatful [sic].”

So far £2,457 has been raised but they only have 39 days to get that number up to £25,000.

Speaking for Charley his family wrote on the page: “My name is Charley and I’m four on the 30th April, so my birthday is really soon. If I could have a wish for my birthday it would be to go to America to get stem cell treatment to help me, that would be the best birthday present ever.

“I can’t walk or talk or chew my food.

“I really need to go to California to see this doctor who could give me treatment called stem cells. It will cost me £25,000 that I do not have.

“But I could raise it with all your kind help and support.”

But Steph’s followers slammed the star for asking strangers for money rather than paying for the treatment herself.

One user said: “Is she really asking strangers, she would rather sit on all her cash than help a family member out herself that’s disgraceful.”

Another added: “With all the money she has you would think being her little cousin she would pay for it all.”

“I was a fan, but asking people to donate what little money they have when you’re sat on more than enough money to cover the treatment?! Seriously,” a third wrote.

A fourth agreed: “I’m appalled that she hasn’t paid for his treatment herself.”

Steph, 24, has made a name for herself after appearing on Celebrity Big Brother last year and of course her turbulent on/off relationship with Irish model Jeremy McConnell.

The pair share a son together – Caben-Albi, five-months.

Their relationship gets more complicated by the day but most recently Jez has been struggling with a drug and alcohol addiction.

Since leaving his latest rehab stint the star has apparently been on several alcohol binges following rows with Steph.

There are now reports that actress Steph has been arrested for grievous bodily harm after allegedly attacking Jez in a late night hotel brawl.

Police confirmed Steph was arrested at 11pm last night after they were called to the hotel.

The Metropolitan Police said in a statement obtained by The Sun Online: “Police in Enfield were called to a hotel in The Ridgeway, EN2 at 23:00hrs on Sunday, 2 July following reports of an assault.

“Officers attended and arrested a 24-year-old woman on suspicion of GBH.

“She has been taken to a North London police station for questioning.

“The victim was treated at the scene and did not attend hospital. Enquiries continue.”
