Simon Cowell teaches son Eric a very important (and unusual) life lesson

Let’s face it, Simon Cowell’s son was never going to have a normal upbringing.

With a father worth more than £300 million, regular jet-setting to Barbados, appearing on screen during X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, and a string of celebrities cooing over him, little Eric Cowell lives a life that most three-year-olds can only dream about.

But with a vast fortune to inherit and privacy to protect comes a whole new set of problems not faced by the average man.

Namely, the age-old concerns about avoiding gold-diggers and ensuring sneaky so and sos don’t go spilling all your secrets to the world.

So perhaps it’s no surprise Daddy Cowell has been teaching his mini-me a very valuable life lesson about the importance of an NDA.

An abbreviation for non-disclosure agreement, an NDA is commonly used by celebrities to ensure those around them aren’t allowed to gossip about what they’ve seen or heard the superstar do.

Very handy if a romance goes sour and you’re a tad worried about a kiss and tell appearing in the tabloids the next day…

So Simon, 57, has been giving Eric an early life lesson on always getting future romantic conquests to sign an NDA before taking things too far.

Chatting to The Sun, the music mogul said: “I sat Eric down and said, ‘I’m going to teach you three very, very important letters for when you get your first girlfriend’ and I said: ‘it’s NDA’.”

Unfortunately for Simon, his girlfriend Lauren Silverman – aka Eric’s mum – wasn’t as thrilled.

“Lauren comes in and I said, ‘Eric, what’s the first thing you’re gonna do when you get a girlfriend?’ and he goes, ‘Daddy says I have to get a NDA’ and she goes, ‘You taught him that?’

“I said, ‘Well that’s good advice.’ ”

And probably rather apt given proud dad Simon revealed earlier this year his little boy already had FIVE girlfriends on the go!

Si told the Daily Star in April: “I think he has my charm with the ladies.

“I asked him the other day how many girlfriends he’s got and I think he’s got five currently, so he’s doing okay.”

Simon himself has a string of high profile exes including X Factor stalwart Sinitta and US TV presenter Terri Seymour, but since 2013 he’s been loved up with New York socialite Lauren.

Little Eric, named after Simon’s dad, arrived on Valentine’s Day 2014.

A doting Simon later gushed to The Mirror that Eric was the “best thing” that had ever happened to him, saying: “You get through that first year and suddenly you realise you can talk with them and they’ve taken on your mannerisms and everything else.

“It is amazing. He is absolutely incredible and so funny.

“It’s the best thing that ever happened to me.”

Aww. Who would have guessed all those years ago that Mr Nasty had such a soft side?
