Secrets behind Holly Willoughby’s slimline new physique

Well, now you know. Get stretching.

For weeks now This Morning viewers have been admiring Holly Willoughby’s new lean look.

Not that she needed to lose weight or anything.

She’s always had a gorgeous womanly body to die for.

But her recent body transformation has been very noticeable and her fans are dying to know how she’s done it.

Only, Holly is not one to divulge body secrets.

In fact, push her as much as you can and she still won’t spill the beans on how she keeps so trim.

“I don’t want to encourage eating disorders,” she’s explained. “I try not to focus too much on my appearance. As long as I’m being healthy, that’s good enough for me.

“I know that some people in chat rooms can really fixate on other people’s diets.”

That said she will admit that part of her body shape is down to the fact she is always on the go, looking after her kids or just working the many shows she works.

“I’m quite active and I try not to let the way I look be the main focus because it’s not the important thing,” she says.

But, after a bit of rooting around, we have found out how she has managed to shrink – and the great thing is, it doesn’t involve going to the gym and wearing yourself out.

She has been having weekly pilates classes at home.

Fitness guru Lynne Robinson, who is the director of Body Control Pilates, started working with Holly on sculpting her body in after her son Chester was born.

Since then she has been guiding her through techniques that have helped shape her curvy body.

“Holly had postnatal matt work classes which concentrated on strengthening and toning her core,” Lynne has explained.

“The exercises have also helped strengthen the pelvic floor which can loosen after pregnancy, as well as help trim the waist and flatten the stomach.”

Among the exercises used to tone Holly’s body are assisted curl ups (lying on your back with your legs bent and then sitting up with the aid of a pillow and large towel).

This is a movement which focuses on lengthening the spine and connecting the deep abdominal muscles.

Lynne would also have Holly raise her arms above her head, holding a towel high in the air to help tone her limbs.

Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on balance, posture, strength and flexibility and is less sweaty than more traditional forms of exercise.

So is it a good way of helping you lose weight?

Yes it can, but only if you also moderate your intake of food.

If you carry on scoffing burgers then you probably won’t see a change.

Holly has never really spoken about what her daily food intake is, but from what we understand she eats happily and healthily throughout the week and has a cheat day on a weekend.

But as we see on the show, Holly has a sweet tooth so we know she’s a gal who doesn’t deny herself tasty treats! And good on her.

So folks, grab a towel and check out YouTube for some simple beginners guides to Pilates and watch that body change before your very eyes!
