S Club star Hannah Spearritt reveals plastic surgery agony

Confidence-boosting surgery left her bed-ridden

With fans chanting your name and the media clamouring to get a piece of you, you’d think a pop star’s confidence would be sky-high.

But for S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt, there was something missing.

The singer, 37, was “jealous” of her female bandmates’ curves, and in 2013 she decided to have a boob job.

But she’s now revealed that, after undergoing expensive surgery in London’s Harley Street, her life turned upside-down, and she started suffering from hair loss, anxiety and aching muscles.

Explaining her reasons for having the work done, the sometime EastEnders actress told the Mail On Sunday: “I never felt womanly enough on top. I’d compare myself to the other girls in the band during photoshoots, and was jealous of their beautiful curves.”

But six months after she’d had the operation, her hair started to fall out in clumps – and that was just the beginning of her nightmare.

She said: “I started sleeping more and more – eventually 22 hours a day. I couldn’t move from bed because my muscles were aching. I lost balance, I was always freezing cold and my brain fog meant I couldn’t remember anything.”

Eventually, Hannah made the decision to reverse the procedure to see if it would improve her symptoms – and in 2016, she went back under the knife.

Thankfully, it worked and she started to notice immediate improvements.

She explained: “I woke from the op feeling 60 per cent better almost instantly. My temperature rose up to normal and my fever disappeared, as did the fatigue and anxiety. My natural energy just came back.”

S Club enjoyed chart success in the late Nineties and early Noughties with hits like Never Had A Dream Come True, Reach and Don’t Stop Movin.

For a period, Hannah dated her bandmate Paul Cattermole, but since the couple split in 2006, there’s apparently been no love lost between them.

Hannah subsequently got engaged to actor Andrew-Lee Potts (they’ve since broken up), and Cattermole said in a recent interview with The Sun: “I very much felt [that] she thought she needed to prioritise her career.

“I’m betting she was told: ‘So your current boyfriend is doing music stuff. Well, that’s great, but you really need an actor boyfriend.'”
