Rylan responds to claims his new show will replace The Chase

The news caused chaos with The Chase fans

Rylan Clark-Neal is set to host brand new game show, Babushka, which is supposed to be similar to Channel 4’s Deal or No Deal.

But the ITV quiz show is set to temporarily replace The Chase’s usual 5pm teatime slot and naturally some viewers are not happy.

Rylan, 28, has since hit back at fans who sent Twitter into a meltdown over the shake up.

Writing to his 1.4 million Twitter followers Rylan said: “When the chase always has a break EVERY SINGLE YEAR but people still be like,” followed by a gif of his hysterical crying scene on the X Factor.

And the star was quick to slam the rumours that the new game show would be replacing The Chase for good.

He wrote: “FYI @Babushka is NOT replacing @ITVChase. The Chase is having a month break as normal and Babushka is filling that slot. Hope you like it.”

As the news that The Chase would be coming off air for a month was announced viewers were outraged and shared their thoughts on Twitter.

One wrote: “Just found out the chase is ending what the hell???? @ITV This must be a joke? #TheChase #Itv #NOTHAPPY #RefuseToBelieveThis.”

“#TheChase am absolutely gutted the chase is being replaced, teatime TV will never be the same,” said another.

“What is this travesty?! How can anything replace #thechase this is not possible! #youcantreplacethechase,” a third tweeted.

Another added: “@ITV what the hell possessed you to replace #TheChase … hide in shame!!! Thanks for Ruining my tea time ritual! #SaveBradley.”

Babushka is set to give The Chase a run for its money and viewers will see contestants in with a chance of winning cash prizes if they choose a Russian doll that has a smaller doll inside it.

Speaking about his latest stint Rylan revealed: “It sounds crazy but it is so good.

“The reason I fell in love with it is the same reason all those years ago that everyone fell in love with Deal or No Deal, it’s all down to the [other] contestants to win the money.

“It is so good. It’s brilliant and it is coming soon!”

We’re sure the new quiz show will live up to expectations.
