Rylan Clark-Neal has revealed a previously unknown reason for why he’s been absent from This Morning – he’s got a new project up his sleeve!
The former X Factor star told OK! Online he’s been working on a “secret business venture” which he’s finally been able to get his teeth into as he’s not been having 6am starts.
The presenter said: “I’m focusing on business stuff at the moment. I’ve been doing something for three years and now I’ve had this break I’m finally able to go full steam ahead with it, which is great.”
He refused to divulge any more details about the project, except to say it has been “three years in the making” and he’s very excited about it.
He added that he will be revealing more details soon. What a tease!
Rylan’s fans were gutted when he announced last December that he would be taking “a little break” from his role as This Morning’s showbiz reporter and substitute co-host.

At the time, the 29-year-old had to deny allegations that he’d been sacked (as if!) and always promised he would be back.
He told The Sun he needed a break “for my head, for my body, for my peace of mind,” particularly as January was a busy month for him hosting Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On The Side.
Now he’s stayed true to his word by announcing on Twitter that he will be rejoining the This Morning team in May as part of their This Morning Live event, which will be held at the NEC Birmingham.
At the same time, The Sun reported that Rylan would soon be back on This Morning regularly, after being tipped off by a source.
Their insider said: “He’s part of the show’s family and always has been. Even though he took a short break, he was always going to return. Rylan will be back on screen shortly – in fact, it could be as soon as next month.”

So it seems we’ll be seeing a lot more of Rylan as he returns to This Morning and launches his new venture – hopefully he’ll let us in on the secret soon!
