Rylan Clark-Neal has revealed his mum, Linda, nearly died of sepsis this year.
The presenter made the revelation during a discussion with This Morning’s doctor, Dr Ranj Singh, on Friday’s show.
Rylan said his mum was taken to hospital because she was complaining of a bad back.

He said: “My mum has severe Crohn’s disease and she was rushed into hospital earlier this year moaning about her hip. My mum’s 66 this month.
“And we were thinking ‘Oh God, she’s going to need a hip replacement’ but she had septicaemia.”
He continued: “And I want to say – you know 70 years of the NHS, thank you.
“Because they saved my mum’s life. They said one more week and we could have lost her.”
During an episode of the daytime show last year, Rylan revealed how his mum had spent six weeks in hospital after having surgery for her Crohn’s disease.
During his showbiz segment on the show, he took the opportunity to thank the medical staff at the Royal London Hospital for looking after his mum.
He explained: “My mum’s has Crohn’s disease and unfortunately something went wrong, so she’s been in hospital for six weeks.
“They’ve looked after her so well so I just want to say thank you and to people who have all been watching, she’s very, very well, she’s home now.
“So we had a very nice Mother’s Day yesterday… I’m very, very happy, so good on you, you’ve really made a bad situation good, so thank you.”
Linda has been living with the condition for more than 30 years and Rylan previously opened up about growing up with his mum being ill.
Shortly after his X Factor stint, Rylan told the Daily Mail in 2013: “My mum lost her job because of the disease – it totally dictates her life.
“When she was diagnosed it really hit her hard because it wasn’t picked up early enough.”
“The earlier you pick it up the easier it is to control. I grew up with the disease as well because she was ill – it is life-threatening. It’s scary.”

Crohn’s disease is a chronic condition which affects around one in 1,200 people in the UK.
It causes inflammation of the lining of the digestive system and can cause intense abdominal pain and fatigue.
