Ruth Langsford gets tearful over Eamonn Holmes love letter

Fans have bombarded Eamonn with pleas to respond to Ruth!

Loose Women fans have urged Eamonn Holmes to check his phone after Ruth Langsford sent him a beautiful love letter live on air.

Former Strictly contestant Ruth, 58, joined the rest of the panel in messaging someone special in their lives, as part of a challenge set up by Stacey Solomon.

Naturally, Ruth chose her husband Eamonn, 58, penning him a romantic text which she sent live on air.

But, er, he didn’t respond!

Poor Ruth got a bit emotional as she read the text she’d sent, saying it was “really quite gushing” for her.

It read: “My darling, we are always so busy I worry that I don’t take time to tell you how much I love you. Well, I love you more than you will ever know. You make my life complete and give me the love and support to do everything I do. Thank you for making me feel like the most loved woman in the world.”

As the audience and fellow panellists cooed, Ruth pointed to her eyes, which were filled with tears.

She added: “I don’t normally do things like that. I call him my poet, he’s the gusher.”

Ruth joked Eamonn was probably too busy eating melon fingers with his work wife, fellow Loose Women panellist Saira Khan, to see the text.

That joke came after Ruth earlier told the panel how Saira has been working with Eamonn at talkRADIO and brings him food and treats during the day.

Eamonn didn’t send a text back while Loose Women was on air, prompting viewers to bombard him with tweets urging him to check his phone!

Others, meanwhile, praised Ruth for her beautiful message and said they loved seeing a couple so happy together.

While Eamonn didn’t respond to Ruth’s text on air, he did send her a video message earlier on, during a discussion on whether people have a ‘work wife or work husband’ these days.

Ruth said she didn’t need a ‘work husband’ as she regularly works with Eamonn, her actual husband, but Eamonn had a different response in his message!

He said: “Every now and again someone comes into your life, someone who makes a real difference, someone you wake up and you want to be with, someone who makes you laugh, who cares about you, who is nice, someone who is your soul mate. Someone who is… Saira Khan!”

Saira then popped up in the video, bringing Eamonn a snack and waving to the studio.

It had Ruth laughing, and she joked: “Saira! That is so brilliant. Saira is working with him a lot now and brings him food. Now he comes home and says, ‘Do we have any melon fingers in the fridge? Saira brings me melon fingers!’ That is so funny. I love it!”

Meanwhile, Eamonn wasn’t the only other half not to respond, as Stacey Solomon’s boyfriend Joe Swash didn’t send her a reply either!

Janet Street Porter did get as reply, after texting her message to panellist Linda Robson, while guest Loose Woman Catherine Tyldesley’s husband Tom also replied, but cheekily said did she mean “baby” instead of “babies” after she said she couldn’t wait for more children.

Catherine said: “I put, ‘I love you more than you’ll ever know. I can’t wait for the rest of by life by your side with lots of memories and lots of babies.’ He put, ‘Haha. Sorry, I’ve been with a client. You mean baby?'”
