Ruth Langsford BLASTS hubby Eamonn Holmes live on air

Ruth branded her husband "chauvinist" on This Morning

Ruth Langsford didn’t hold back as she called her hubby and co-presenter, Eamonn, “chauvinist” and “silly”.

The couple were hosting ITVs lunchtime show, This Morning, when Eamonn dropped himself in it when discussing debt.

Conversation got a little tense between the pair.

While talking to money expert Martin Lewis about credit cards, Eamonn – let’s say – slightly put his foot in it.

He said: “Here’s something I wouldn’t want to do, shift my partner’s debt to my credit card.”

As Martin began to snigger, Ruth did not look impressed.

She snapped back, saying: “That’s a very silly, chauvinist kind of thing to say, isn’t it?”

The 56-year-old added: “Because I don’t have any debt on my credit card. I pay my credit card every month so take that back right now.”

Eamonn replied: “I would like to see the evidence of that darling, I’m not sure of that.”

Clearly annoyed by Eamonn’s comment, Ruth said: “Have a look.”

While Holly and Phil enjoy time off, Ruth and Eamonn are set to host the show from Monday through to Thursday this week.

Rylan Clark-Neal will step up to presenting alongside Alison Hammond on Friday.

This heated discussion came shortly before Eamonn criticised his wife’s outfit on the show.

The Irish presenter made it clear he wasn’t a fan of Ruth’s wardrobe choice during their conversation with the Loose Women panel as they prepared to go live straight after This Morning.

Eamonn had earlier compared Ruth to a pirate with her choice of trousers, but Ruth asked her Loose Women pals for their opinions: “Do you like my culottes?”

Panellist Jane Moore stood up to reveal identical black culottes as Ruth’s.

Eamonn said: “In fairness you’ve got to be a certain shape”.

Eamonn then realised that American star, Pamela Anderson had joined on the panel, he uttered: “Oh my God, it’s Pamela…”

Cue Ruth blasting her hubby again by saying: “You’ve just shown yourself up in front of Pamela Anderson by being rude to your wife.”

Shocked viewers were not impressed with Eamonn’s comments either, as one tweeted: “@thismorning One word Eamon…..RUDE! Must be hard for Ruth to keep smiling after that comment”.

Another said: Pass the shovel to @EamonnHolmes to dig that hole for himself!!..@thismorning@RuthieeL #cullottes”.
