Royal baby tragedy as Zara Tindall suffers miscarriage

Harry and William's cousin was expecting second child with husband Mike Tindall

The Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall has lost her baby, just weeks after revealing she was pregnant.

She and husband Mike Tindall announced they were expecting their second child at the end of last month.

Breaking the sad news today, their spokeswoman did not provide details of the circumstances surrounding the loss.

“Very sadly, Zara and Mike Tindall have lost their baby. At this difficult time, we ask that everyone respects their privacy,” she said.

The baby, which was due around late spring, would have been the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh’s sixth great grandchild.

Zara, an equestrian champion and Olympian, and former England rugby player Tindall have a daughter Mia, who is nearly three.

It is expected that Zara will spend Christmas with her family at their home on Gatcombe Park country estate in Gloucestershire, the residence of her mother, Princess Anne.
