Robbie Williams hints he could DROP hit song Angels from next gig as it’s too hard to sing

But it's our favourite!

Robbie Williams has admitted that he struggles to sing mega hit Angels without crying – and has hinted he could drop it from some future shows.

The singer told the Daily Star that he’s keen to do a new show based on his Under The Radar albums, featuring B-sides and other lesser known tracks.

And lesser known tracks means no Angels!

Robbie, 43, told the paper it can be a struggle to sing Angels, saying: “I have to hold myself together or I could cry over everything and I’d look pathetic.

“There are people who put posters up before Angels about their mum or dad who died and I think, ‘Oh God, I am going to cry’.

“It did affect me.”

Angels came out in December 1997, and became an instant classic – despite initially only reaching number four in the UK chart.

It was certified double platinum and at the 2005 Brit Awards the track was voted Best Song from the past 25 years by the British public.

But it’s also an emotional song for many.

A 2005 poll found Angels was the most popular song for Britons to play at their funeral.

Thankfully for fans of Angels, it seems like Robbie is only talking about not playing it if he does an Under The Radar gig, rather than taking it off all future set lists.

Meanwhile, dad of two Robbie is thankfully feeling better this year after a health scare in 2017 that left him in intensive care for a week.

He fell ill towards the end of a world tour.

Robbie explained on Loose Women last month he’d been suffering problems with his back during The Heavy Entertainment Show and although he managed to complete the majority of his tour, the pain just became too much.

“I managed to do 97 per cent of the tour but missed out Russia, which is sad, because I wanted to go there and sing Party Like A Russian for them,” he said.

“I haven’t cancelled a show since 1998, so I have a pretty good record.”

Robbie told the panel he’d decided to overhaul his lifestyle, embracing a plant-based diet and taking up yoga and pilates.

“I eat meat occasionally but not very often,” he said.

“I wanted to do anything to make my back better and I heard if you eat a lot of meat you can get a lot of inflammation, so I decided to go plant-based.”
