Rio Ferdinand and Kate Wright have shared a stunning family beach photo from their Christmas holiday in the sun-drenched Maldives.

The ex-footballer posted the pic to his 3.4 million followers, showing his sons Lorenzo, 12, and Tate, 10, doing handstands on the white sand as he holds their feet.

Rio’s seven-year-old daughter Tia is in front of them doing the crab position while the kids’ soon-to-be stepmum Kate crouches down holding up her fingers in a double peace sign and sticking out her tongue.

They’re wearing matching red swimsuits and Santa hats, and behind them is a cloudless blue sky and crystal-clear sea.

The dad-of-three captioned the photo: “Bit delayed on the Christmas post, been offline for a few days!”

He added: “Loads of Love from us (the nutters).” The snap has been liked by more than 85,000 fans.

The family have been enjoying Christmas on the idyllic Indian Ocean island of Kuredu, where Rio was hosting a soccer coaching course.

He and ex-Towie star Kate, 27, got engaged in Abu Dhabi two months ago.

Rio proposed to her on the roof of a skyscraper in front of his three children before they all celebrated together.

Posting the moment on Instagram, he wrote: “She said yes. How these three kids kept it a secret I’ll never know.”

Rio’s football coaching course was the perfect excuse to take his family away for a dream holiday as it was running at Kuredu Island Resort from December 23-25.

The couple had been two years of dating when they got engaged.
