Piers Morgan shares pride in son’s latest achievement

Piers showed a softer side in congratulating his son

| Updated:

Piers Morgan has shared a pride-filled video of his son receiving a hearty round of applause on stage.

The journalist, 53, took to Instagram to congratulate his son Stanley’s “fantastic performance” in a play put on by London’s LAMDA drama school.

Alongside a short video clip, Piers wrote: “Fully justified standing ovation @lamdadrama last night for a fantastic performance of Patrick Marber’s ‘Three Days in the Country’ adaptation of Turgenev’s ‘A Month in the Country’.

“Congrats to @stanley.morgan & all the cast. Brilliant young actors at the top of their game. Loved it.”

Piers has two other sons, Spencer, 25, and Albert, 17.

Last year, Stanley was robbed at an M&S service station when thieves on a motorbike smashed up his car and stole his bag.

Dad Piers vented his rage on Twitter, vowing vengeance on the criminals and promising a “handsome” reward for anyone who recovered the bag.

His post about Stanley’s play follows a Twitter spat earlier this week with Welsh TV presenter Matt Johnson.

The Good Morning Britain host called Matt a “virtue-signalling little [expletive]” on Twitter after he labelled Piers “a sham and a fear-mongering fraud”.

Matt was responding to Piers’ comments on Good Morning Britain, where he suggested people should stop using the phrase “mental health” and start saying “mental strength” instead.

Piers thought the change would help teach kids “the power of resilience”, but Matt disagreed and the two clashed.

While Piers is no stranger to controversy, he is known to share warm snaps of his family from time to time.

Last month, he posted a sweet photo of his mum and younger brother, Army officer Jeremy Morgan, as they enjoyed a day out together.

In a caption with the snap, he joked: “My mum & little brother, if you’ve all been wondering where I get my good looks…”

Jeremy’s looks did catch the attention of Piers’ followers, with one agreeing: “Your brother is rather handsome” and another commenting “Your bro is a dish. Mum so lovely and elegant!”
