Phillip Schofield told to “stop giving away secrets” on This Morning

We want Phil on our next pub quiz team!

Phillip Schofield may have just let slip a big secret about this weekend’s Dancing On Ice finale!

The 55-year-old was interviewing Torvill & Dean on Thursday’s episode of This Morning when he appeared to accidentally confirm details about their hugely-anticipated performance on Sunday night.

Though to be fair to Phil, it was purely a lucky guess!

Phil and Holly Willoughby, who co-host Dancing On Ice, were quizzing Jayne Torvill and Chris Dean for more info on their long-awaited return to the ice.

The skating duo refused to give away any details when asked if they would be skating to a fast or slow song and what that song is.

“What have you been working on? What are you doing? What can you tell us?” asked Phil.

“Can you tell us the song? Is it fast or slow?” added Holly.

Torvill & Dean kept tight-lipped, but Christopher did divulge the song is “connected to Dancing On Ice.”

Holly guessed Vanilla Ice’s Ice Ice Baby (er, okay) while Phillip chose The Impossible Dream, as it was the song played in those incredible Dancing On Ice trailers earlier in the year.

And it seems like Phil was right!

Phil asked: “Is it the polar bear song? Impossible Dream?”

“I’m not saying anything,” replied Chris, giving a mischievous look.

Holly turned to Phil and said: “I think you might have hit the nail on the head! But we can’t confirm or deny. We don’t know.”

Well, maybe we do as Chris jokingly chided Phil: “Stop giving away secrets!”

Phil defended himself: “I don’t know! We don’t know! You asked me to guess and I might have done!”

Well done, Phillip!

Meanwhile, Torvill & Dean revealed Jake Quickenden will be fine to perform in this weekend’s Dancing On Ice finale.

However, they’ve altered the move which led to his recent injury so Jake doesn’t worry about the same thing happening again.

Jake, 29, was taken to A&E earlier this week after dislocating his thumb while training with the skating duo and his professional partner, Vanessa Bauer.

Christopher explained: “We were doing a move which he’s done already and he’s doing an overhead somersault, and he just left his hand there too long and it really ripped his thumb back.”

He confirmed Jake was taken to A&E to be checked out but is now back training.

He said: “Sharon the physio has strapped him up and he’s back.”

When asked if Jake can still do lifts with his injury, Jayne said: “Yes, he can do all the lifts. We changed the actual lift he hurt his thumb on from his mental point of view so he doesn’t have to worry about that and he’s now doing an equally exciting one.”

Christopher said: “There is nothing that will stop him getting on the ice!”

Jayne agreed: “Nothing. He is so eager.”

Jake said he’s “buzzing” to be able to rehearse again as the stars have to master Torvill and Dean’s Bolero routine for the final (Credit: ITV)

All three Dancing On Ice finalists – Jake, Brooke Vincent and Max Evans – are preparing three routines for Sunday night’s finale: their favourite routine, the showcase and the Bolero.

But only two will get to perform the Bolero, as one will be eliminated after just two routines.

Torvill & Dean have been judges for this whole series, but returned to the ice to choreograph for the final show.

We can’t wait!

Dancing On Ice’s finale airs from 6pm on Sunday on ITV.
