Original Johnny Carter actor Sam Strike looks a lot different since his EastEnders days

Little Sausage Carter's all grown up!

He was once sweet-natured Johnny ‘Sausage’ Carter. But now former Enders star Sam Strike is building a career for himself in the US – playing all sorts of thugs, misfits and killers.

And now he’s shown off his new haircut – a buzz cut that has left him almost unrecognisable from his former EastEnd self.

Sam, who won praise for the scenes when Johnny came out to dad Mick (played by Danny Dyer), stars in Leatherface – the movie telling the story of the villain of the classic horror film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

And he’s played a real-life serial killer in new Netflix drama Mindhunter.

Sam’s character – Monte Rissel was a killer with the IQ of a genius who’d raped and killed five women before his 19th birthday.

From his Instagram posts, it seems Sam’s left the sunny skies of Hollywood and LA behind for a while to hit New York City.

He has posted that he’s filming something called The Wisdom Tooth, playing a character called Dash Green, adding that he looks “increasingly thuggish”.

And fans were quick to comment on his new hairdo.

“Rip hair, you will be missed,” said one, sad to be saying goodbye to Sam’s trademark floppy locks.

We’re more intrigued by the clothes he’s wearing, to be honest.

His latest posts show him wearing a hospital gown and riding a skateboard – looking almost like Eleven in season one of Stranger Things.

We can’t wait to find out what it’s all about!
