Olly Murs in ‘secret romance’ mystery after New Yorker’s blog post

Blogger claims she had a "magical date" with a famous Essex singer

| Updated:

A New York blogger has sparked a love mystery after claiming she enjoyed a brief romance and “magical date” with a famous British popstar.

Brittany Allyn, 32, never reveals the identity of her mystery man but according to The Sun, fans have pointed the finger at Olly Murs, as she describes her date as a “cheeky chappy” from Essex who can sing and dance.

In her Thirty Waves blog post entitled How To Lose a Popstar in 10 Weeks, Brittany lifts the lid on how she met her mystery man at one of his concerts in London, after being set-up by a friend.

The tech worker confessed she’d never heard of the popstar before that night, and told him the only song he’d sung which she’d recognised was a Tina Turner cover.

After meeting and chatting backstage, she claims they messaged via Instagram, and promised to meet up when Brittany was back in London, or if he could get to New York.

Brittany said she told her mystery popstar to think of her every time he performed his Tina Turner cover What’s Love Got To Do With It, and she was delighted when one day he sent her a video from a gig of him performing the hit.

She said weeks after messaging, they were finally able to go on a dinner date when she returned to London for work, and her mystery popstar was the perfect gentleman.

Brittany claimed they shared a goodnight kiss after the popstar walked her back to her AirBnB which made her “heart and breath stop a little bit.”

She recalled: “I paused for a moment to fully take in how lucky I felt. Not because I just went on a date with a popstar, but because I just had a magical date with a person I was excited about. I still feel the same – EVERY WOMAN deserves to experience a romantic and beautiful night that feels straight out a movie.”

Brittany wrote that the singer text her to say he’d also had a great date but they weren’t able to meet up again during her stay.

And she realised with the distance between them and his hectic schedule, it was unlikely anything serious would ever develop.

Brittany claims they were meant to be meet up in New York in September, but it never happened as the popstar told her he’d been offered a “big opportunity” and couldn’t pass it up.

If her mystery man is indeed Olly, this “big opportunity” could have been his offer to become a coach on the latest series of The Voice.

Brittany said that was the last she heard of the popstar and she’ll “never regret any of the time I spent last summer getting caught up in this ‘love affair’.”

Sounds magical!

Olly has yet to react to speculation he’s the mystery man in question and ED! has contacted Olly’s rep for a comment
