Mystery as Katie Price cancels live tour dates over ‘unforeseen circumstances’

Planned "Audience With" dates won't go ahead

Katie Price has mysteriously cancelled remaining shows on her “An Audience with…” tour due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

The New Alex Theatre in Birmingham announced on Twitter that the glamour model would not be appearing at their venue in May as planned.

The Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone – where the Loose Women star had been set to take to the stage on 29 April – followed suit.

Both venues said that all the remaining shows of Katie’s tour have been cancelled, suggesting her scheduled dates in Wimbledon and Manchester in May will also be called off.

ED! have contacted these venues for confirmation as well as Katie’s representatives.

The New Alex Theatre Birmingham said in its tweet that those who had already purchased tickets for the event on Friday 4 May would get a full refund.

The theatre wrote: “ANNOUNCEMENT | Due to unforeseen circumstances the remaining shows of the tour for An Audience with Katie Price have had to be cancelled. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and all ticket holders will be refunded in full. Please contact your point of sale.”

The Leas Cliff Hall used the same statement in its Facebook post, also promising a refund to those who have already purchased tickets.

The event had been advertised as: “A special evening consisting of Katie Price talking about her life stories and she will also be performing her brand new single I Got U. Not only this, there will also be the opportunity for a VIP meet and greet and photo opportunity with Katie herself!”

One disappointed fan who had bought tickets tweeted the mum-of-five to say: “@KatiePrice I bought my wife tickets to see you sat for her B day, I’m so disappointed you cancelled the event. She’s gutted. She’s always wanted to meet you! We never get a night out together now we got a child free night with nothing to do!”

Another said under Lea Cliff’s Facebook announcement that they were “gutted”.

Katie, 39, previously told her fans on Instagram she would be travelling to South Africa this week.

It’s been a difficult year for the star as she’s deliberated over her relationship with third husband Kieran Hayler following allegations of his infidelity.

She’s also had to have more surgery to correct a botched facelift and has been supporting her mum Amy as she battles an incurable lung condition.

The problems in her private life come as she’s also been keeping up her work commitments by filming the second series of her reality TV show, and been campaigning for the government to introduce tougher measures against online trolls.

In addition, she’s been training to take on the London Marathon in nearly three weeks’ time for charity.

As a result of her hectic schedule, she’s recently had to take a break from appearing on Loose Women where she acts as a panelist.

She hasn’t been on the ITV lunchtime programme since January, when she broke down in tears when discussing her mum’s prognosis.

She is expected to return when she’s finished filming her current show.

But whether her cancelled ‘An Audience with’ shows will be rescheduled remains a mystery.

Katie had already postponed the dates after receiving kidnap threats to eldest son Harvey when she was undertaking the UK tour last year.
