Michelle Keegan has revealed she once sold cosmetics to Kym Marsh before finding fame.
The 31-year-old worked at a beauty counter in a department store in Manchester before landing her breakthrough role as Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street.
And while working there, she was “starstruck” to meet Kym, who plays Michelle Connor and was later to become Michelle’s on-screen co-star.

Michelle explained on the latest episode of Jessie Ware’s Table Manners podcast: “I was doing the auditions as I worked on the make-up counter.

“I remember Kym Marsh coming in. She was in Corrie at that point and I remember exactly what she wanted. She wanted a number two concealer from Benefit, where I was working.
“I was so starstruck! I couldn’t believe that I was seeing someone from Coronation Street! I served her and literally three months later I got the job on Corrie!”
Michelle said she never told Kym about their pre-Corrie encounter, admitting she wasn’t quite sure how to bring it up in conversation!
She compared her first day on the Corrie set to your first day at school where you’re still finding your feet and learning the boundaries.
Michelle left Corrie in 2014 to pursue other opportunities including her leading role in BBC One army drama Our Girl.
Meanwhile, Kym isn’t the only Coronation Street star Michelle encountered before fame!
She’s previously revealed how she served Jack P Shepherd – aka David Platt- while working at an airport before her acting career began.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan earlier this year, Michelle said: “I was trying to be dead cool with the passport, going, ‘Oh my God, it’s David Platt!’ to my colleagues.”
She said Jack “found it hilarious” when she later told him.
The latest series of Our Girl recently finished on BBC One meaning Michelle’s enjoying a bit of time off, allowing her to jet over to LA to spend time with husband Mark Wright, who is based in America while he works for US showbiz programme Extra.

Although Michelle has said she couldn’t imagine a permanent move to America, she is open to working on a US TV show.
She told The One Show: “I’d love to work in America but I couldn’t see myself living out there full time. I’m a home bird. It won’t be permanent. Definitely not.”
