Samantha Markle issues desperate plea to Meghan in Christmas card

The Duchess' estranged family are talking again

| Updated:

Whether you love it or hate it, Christmas is a time for family. Which – for The Duchess of Sussex – means her estranged family coming out of the woodwork to give yet more interviews about their royal relation.

Now, Meghan’s half-sister, Samantha Markle has shared her Christmas card to Meghan, where she begs her to reunite with their dad, Thomas – warning his failing health might make this is his last Christmas.

In the emotional card, obtained by The Mirror, Samantha – who is Thomas’ daughter from his first marriage – wrote: “Holidays are a time for family and are sentimental. Dad has been trying to contact you and is very hurt because you are avoiding him.

“Life is short and you know Dad is wonderful. Please give him joy in his last years by showing you love him. The time is now.”

Samantha, 54, also told the paper: “It would be tragic and sad if he doesn’t get to be around to resolve this. I think Meg would harbour a lot of regret if this were his last Christmas alive and she didn’t reach out and make things right. There is not another day or week guaranteed, so Meg needs to act quickly. The clock is ticking.”

Thomas – who has heart problems – and the former Suits actress fell out after her wedding to Prince Harry in May.

The busy – and heavily pregnant – new royal was reportedly upset when her retired dad worked with the paps to stage photos of him preparing for Meghan’s big day.

He later missed her wedding because of health issues.

Since then, Thomas has repeatedly given revealing interviews about the rift and recently, appealed directly to the Queen herself to step in.

The 74-year-old told Good Morning Britain: “I would appreciate anything she could do. I would think she would want to resolve family problems.

“All families, royal or otherwise, are the same and they should all be together – certainly around the holidays.”

It reportedly led to crisis talks at the palace over how to deal with Thomas’ indiscretions going forward.
