Meghan Markle snapped arriving at Buckingham Palace for Christmas dinner with the Queen

As you do...

Prince Harry looked proud as punch as he drove through the gates of Buckingham Palace today, with new fiancée Meghan Markle in the passenger seat.

The recently-engaged couple are attending the annual royal gathering, which is set to include at least 50 other royals.

Also settling down inside will be the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – better known as Will and Kate – plus their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

They’ll be joined by a host of other royals including Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Charles and Princess Beatrice.

The lunch will see Meghan meet some of Harry’s more distant royals for the first time, after their engagement last month.

Meghan had her hair down and appeared to be wearing a delicate lace top, as well as a pair of diamond earrings.

William and Kate were also spotted on their way in, with Wills driving a Range Rover while Prince George – in a cobalt blue coat – peered out of the window.

Kate offered photographers a glowing smile as the car swept through the gates at Buckingham Palace.

In a break from royal tradition, Meghan will be spending her Christmas Day at Sandringham alongside Harry.

She’s recently moved full-time to the UK, as the couple prepare for their wedding next May.

Princess Eugenie was also spotted being driven into the Palace in a bright red dress, while Beatrice was wearing a dark overcoat.

Usually, royal couples have to be married before having Christmas dinner in Norfolk together, but the Queen made an exception in Meghan’s case this year.

And sister-in-law to be Kate is said to be hoping to give Meghan a “magical and memorable” first Christmas with her new family.

Meghan will formalise her British citizenship and get baptised by the Church of England before the wedding – which is on the same day as the FA Cup final – takes place.
