Mark Wright meltdown as he refuses to DJ for reality stars

Did someone say diva?

It seems Mark Wright has forgotten his roots as he pulled out of a DJ booking because other reality stars would be there.

Former The Only Way Is Essex star was booked to DJ at the Pentahotels Ipswich launch party alongside Blue for a sum of £5K, but when he arrived he wouldn’t get out of the car.

What a diva.

Mark’s rep pulled the plug when he arrived as they were not told he needed to walk a red carpet upon arrival.

Other guests also walking the carpet included Celebrity Big Brother winner Stephen Bear and Love Island Winners Nathan Massey and Cara De La Hoyde.

The hotel’s event organisers tried to convince Mark to attend, but he still declined.

Oh Mark, TOWIE was hardly a documentary.

His spokesman Simon Jones told the Mirror: “I personally pulled Mark from DJ’ing last night as I didn’t feel it was an appropriate event for his DJ set.

“The organisers weren’t transparent about it being a red carpet press event, and when I found out, I made the decision to decline him DJ’ing and not to attend.”

Mark’s rep, who claimed he gets up to £100,000 for red carpet events despite the £5,000 he would have got for the night, said it wasn’t an “appropriate event” for the star.

The spokesman continued: “We were told that Mark no longer wants to be associated with reality TV stars as he’s taking his career in another direction.”

Bit petty don’t you think?

A Pentahotels insider said: “We booked Mark via his booking agent to come and perform at the launch of Pentahotel Ipswich. This included a DJ set and meet and greet and was approved by Mark’s management.

“We were never informed by the booking agent that if there was a red carpet outside the entrance to the hotel this would be a problem or change the cost of the booking.

“After the booking, our team contacted the booking agent to see if Mark would be willing to do an interview with a magazine who were in attendance for which his management declined.

“The only concern from Mark’s team on the build up to taking the gig was who would be attending from TOWIE, for which we stated Jasmin Walia and Chloe Lewis and the booking was then confirmed.

“Pentahotels management spoke to Mark Wright’s manager on Thursday upon arrival and were told that Mark did not know about the other celebrities in attendance and that he no longer wants to be associated with reality TV stars as he is taking his career in another direction.

“After further discussions with Mark and his manager, the Penta representatives were told that as it is a red carpet event and press were in attendance, Mark’s fee could potentially be around £100k for such appearances.

“Mark was then told he did not need to do any red carpet photos or could use the back entrance to the hotel and no professional photography would be taken featuring Mark so that he could just do his set as planned but his publicist still pulled him from the event, worried that mobile phone photos could be featured online.”

Mark, who is married to Michelle Keegan, has been slammed for being up himself considering his reality background.

Since leaving TOWIE, he appeared on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, landed a few presenting gigs, a radio show, oh and a feature in a yoghurt advert.

Cause that really screams A-list.
