Lisa Armstrong admits she’s “gutted” after Britain’s Got Talent ‘axe’

She is hurt

Lisa Armstrong has said she’s “gutted” after reportedly being dropped from her role as a make-up artist on Britain’s Got Talent.

It was said Lisa had been removed from the hit show a day after a story that her ex Ant McPartlin would be returning to filming the ITV show next January emerged.

On Monday, the 42-year-old – who has worked on the show for 12 years – told fans she was “gutted” on Twitter.

After the reports emerged, a fan tweeted Lisa: “What the actual [bleep]! Babe keep that head held high, 2019 will have better and bigger things for you! Sending you lots of love & postive vibes.”

Lisa replied: “I know babe, gutted after 12 years.”

In a double blow for Lisa, it comes as Ant’s return to Britain Got Talent was reported following his break from TV to undertake rehab.

The pair are still amid their divorce.

Lisa also hinted she felt she was being ‘punished’ and that it wasn’t her decision to leave the show.

When one fan tweeted: “Sorry like @lisaAmakeup being axed is just [BLEEP] ridiculous!! Why should she be punished?!” Lisa replied: “Exactly hun.”

And when another follower commented: “I really hope it was your decision to move on to better projects,” Lisa responded: “Nope.”

A source previously told The Mirror that show bosses felt it would be “untenable” for the exes to work together despite everyone being “fond” of Lisa.

However, another insider said to The Sun: “Lisa was taken off Britain’s Got Talent because bosses have seen the way she constantly courts attention on social media.

“They don’t want someone working on the show who behaves in this manner. Hair and make-up artists on the show need to be behind the scenes, but Lisa constantly tries to keep herself in the spotlight by using social media to get publicity.”

Ant – who is now dating his former PA Anne-Marie Corbett – announced his separation from Lisa in January this year.

The presenter, 42, is expected to begin filming BGT auditions in January alongside co-host Dec Donnelly.
