Kym Marsh reveals new addition to her family next year

This will certainly make for a lively household

Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh, has some big plans for next year.

She has revealed that there will be a new addition to the family, after conceding to her daugher’s requests.

No, Kym isn’t looking to have another child but has decided to add a four-legged friend to the household.

Talking to OK! magazine, Kym revealed: “You may remember that I was in two minds about whether to get Emilie a puppy for Christmas.

“I can tell you now that I’ve given in.

“We’ve already been to pick one and she chose a little Chihuahua, which she’s called Lola.

“She’s not quite ready to come home yet, so we’ll be picking her up in the New Year.”

While it looks like a lively start to 2017 for Kym, she also revealed the moment that she thought she’d almost died.

She was speaking about the Christmas present that she was given by her Corrie co-star Simon Gregson, who plays her screen husband Steve McDonald.

It was some present as Kym admitted that it gave her the “fright of her life”.

Kym continued: “During my last day of filming before the Christmas break, I got the fright of my life.

“I walked into my dressing room, which was pitch black because the lights were off, and I saw a figure standing in the corner.

“I jumped out of my skin when I saw it, but when I turned on the light I realised it was a cardboard cut-out of Simon Gregson!

“Every year we buy each other a Christmas present and this year he decided I should get a cardboard cut-out of him.

“The idea stemmed from the fact I once admitted that I had posters of Simon on my bedroom wall when I was younger.”

Kym might have the last laugh though, as she is considering setting up a Twitter account for the cardboard cut-out and post pictures of Simon’s cardboard replica “doing funny things”.

Better not let the new chihuahua near the cut-out, just in case it takes a fancy to nibbling at a leg or two!
