Kym Marsh has said she’s so excited to be an “honorary Corrie grandma” after co-star James Burrows announced he’s to become a father.
The actor, who plays Kym’s on-screen son, revealed last week that girlfriend Sophie Coates is expecting the couple’s first child.

She wrote in her new OK! Magazine column: “Congratulations to James Burrows, who plays my on-screen son Ali Neeson. He’s expecting his first child with his girlfriend Sophie, which means I’m going to be an honorary Corrie grandma.
“He’s absolutely over the moon and I’m so happy for them both. I know he’ll make a brilliant daddy and I can’t wait to meet his little one.”

Kym, who plays Michelle Connors in Corrie, is mum to son David, 23, and daughters Emilie, 20, and Polly, seven.
James, 27, announced his happy baby news via Instagram on October 12.
He shared a photo of the ultrasound image to his social media account, alongside the caption: “Me and my beautiful girlfriend Sophie Coates are over the moon to announce that we’re having a baby.
“We can not contain our excitement we are so so happy x.”
James was inundated with well-wishes from fans and his Coronation Street co-stars including Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt) who wrote: “Woo wooooooo! Buzzing for you both!”
Sair Khan (Alya Nazir) wrote: “CONGRATULATIONS!!”
James and Sophie met online in 2015 and began dating the following year.
Sophie recently shared a blurry photo to Instagram showing them meeting, alongside the caption:”It’s our one year online anniversary according to Facebook 🙋🏼 Even though we didn’t meet in real life until 5 months later…
“Here’s a bleary picture of us on the week we actually met / the night before I moved to Italy 💔 to mark the occasion ❤️ (at my brothers 30th birthday wearing a crown, not trying to steal anyone’s shine).”

James replied to her: “I love you to the moon and back a thousand times xx❤️❤️.”
