Kym Marsh BLASTS ‘diva meltdown’ claims after National TV Awards

The Corrie star was accused of being a "diva" to hotel staff

| Updated:

Coronation Street favourite Kym Marsh was shocked after it was reported that she’d had a meltdown on a staff member at the InterContinental hotel in London last month.

It was claimed that the soap star was a “diva” after her room key stopped working and she asked the staff member in question: “Do you know who I am?!”

Now Kym, who plays Michelle Connor in the soap, has spoken out to OK! to reveal that the claims were NOT true.

She said: “Reading that I was a diva after being locked out of my hotel room after the National TV Awards was news to me.”

The star added: “It’s true that I got locked out of my room, but I certainly didn’t say: ‘Do you know who I am?’ like it was reported.

“Anyone who knows me knows I wouldn’t say anything like that.”

Kym revealed the truth behind what really happened after the NTAs to her fans on social media.

She told her 717K Twitter followers: “Just read I had a meltdown over a hotel room key, and as if I’d ever say, ‘Don’t u know who I am?’ U have to laugh at the stuff they make up.”

Her fans were quick to defend the Corrie star, as one said: “@msm4rsh Don’t ever rise to these morons Kym, you’re a fantastic actress, the last few weeks have proved this and 99.9% of the people luv ya.”

Another said: “@msm4rsh Like you’d ever say that everyone knows who you are an amazing actress.”

A source told the Daily Mail: “The staff said they couldn’t help her – which you can imagine was very frustrating.

“In the end Kym called someone from ITV who came and sorted it out for her.”

They added: “Kym didn’t lose her temper at all or say: ‘Do you know who I am?’

“After half an hour or so it all got sorted. That was all there was to it.”

See! All just a simple misunderstanding.
