Danniella Westbrook rushed to hospital by Kerry Katona with blood infection

She feared she’d die

Danniella Westbrook has revealed she was rushed to hospital after contracting a blood infection this week.

The former EastEnders actress took to Twitter to share a photo of herself hooked up to a drip in hospital.

Danniella, 44, revealed her friend Kerry Katona made a two-hour journey to take her to hospital.

Following the ordeal, Danniella thanked Kerry, her son Kai Jenkins and another friend for staying with her.

She wrote: “Been so ill Been so ill thank goodness for my son and @TrudieLyons and @KerryKatona7.”

As fans began expressing their concerns for the star, Danniella responded to one person who wished her a speedy recovery.

Danniella said: “Thanks my darling, @KerryKatona7 did a 2 & 1/2 hour journey to get to me & get me to the hospital. I had pjs on was so weak (sic).”

She added: “Was both in tears thought I was gonna die my blood was burning & no one was listening 2 me.

“Kez took me in & made them listen. I trust her with my life (sic).”

She later thanked fans for their messages of support.

She wrote: “Thank you all for your kindness. I had two blood infections.”

Back in May, former drug addict Danniella revealed on Loose Women that Kerry was being her “friend and mentor”.

The pair appeared on the show to talk about how they have bonded over their “parallel” lives.

During a previous appearance on the show, Kerry told Danniella not to “suffer in silence” and give her “a bell or message on Twitter”.

Speaking about Kerry’s plea, Danniella said: “We’ve both had such parallel lives with abusive relationships, bad childhood, addiction.

“I’m 13 years clean, I’ve relapsed and relapsed and it is a struggle.”

“But to have a friend and a mentor in Kerry, I think it’s great,” she added. “When one is down, the other is up. I can ring Kerry and I know whatever I say to her is not going anywhere else.”

Kerry – who has bipolar and been addicted to drugs – said: “What’s kept me going is how Danniella has looked up to me.”
