Kerry Katona hits back at reports she’s due to be in court over Molly and Lilly’s holiday

The star has been accused of failing to pay a fine for taking her children on holiday during term time

Kerry Katona has hit out at reports that she was due to appear in court after taking her children on holiday.

It was claimed that the former Atomic Kitten singer took her two daughters, Molly, 15, and Lilly, 14, away on holiday during term time.

It was believed that the star had to appear in court this week after not paying a fine and failing to make sure her daughters attended school.

But now the mum-of-five has hit out at the reports in a message on Instagram.

She said: “Just to clear this whole thing regards to the children going away on holiday in February this was not me.

“Their dad took them away to Barbados. The matter has all been sorted.

“Next time check your facts papers!!”

According to reports East Sussex County Council took Kerry, 36, to court. Gareth Jones, representing the council apparently told The Argus: “Her lawyer phoned and asked if the case could be put off.

“She says she is planning on paying it. We are prepared to give her the benefit of the doubt and pay it. There have been some concerns about the children’s attendance.

“This instance was for taking the children away for a week’s holiday.”

Kerry shares Molly and Lilly with ex-husband Brian McFadden.

Meanwhile Kerry has apparently started legal proceedings following her split from George Kay, who she married in 2014.

It’s been said that the couple ended their relationship after a string of rows which resulted in George walking out.

Friends of the pair have revealed George has moved out of the family home in East Sussex.

A source told The Sun: “Tensions reached breaking point about a month ago and it all came to head when George told Kerry that he was tired of acting as a nanny to her kids.

“He is sick of being stuck at home, while Kerry was able to swan about and do what she pleased.”

Last week it was reported that George then had naked meltdown on a rooftop.

According to the Daily Star George climbed on to the tiles of a house screaming for help in a bizarre two-hour episode.

It then apparently ended in police managing to talk him down.

A source told the publication: “He was just lying there stark naked screaming about something.

“Most of it was pretty incoherent but every now and then he screamed, ‘help me’.

“He shouted something about someone trying to shoot him.

“There was a group of people and police standing in the garden trying to reason with him.

“He never went anywhere near the edge of the roof, he just was lying in the middle of it.”

A spokesman for Merseyside police added: “Officers were called at 4.05pm to reports a man was on the roof of a property.”
