Katy Perry unveils drastic new look after Orlando Bloom split

The singer has ditched her blonde locks for a Miley Cyrus-esque hairdo

Katy Perry very recently split with actor Orlando Bloom after dating for just under a year.

But the 32-year-old is making a strong comeback as she chops off her luscious blonde bob for a short pixie cut.

The Hot n Cold singer revealed her bold new look on Instagram yesterday and her fans went wild.

Katy unleashed her inner Miley Cyrus as she showed off her new hair-do paired with a red lip.

She recorded the transformation from start to finish sharing it with her 61 million Instagram followers.

Looking very pleased with the results, Katy grinned for the camera as fans went crazy for the new look.

One wrote: “Cool hair style, u look like miley OMG.”

Another wrote: “OMG!!!! I thought that’s miley but that’s really cool!! Love your new hair.”

Ironically, Katy revealed earlier this month that she “hadn’t shaved her head yet” after being asked why she took a break in music.

The Roar singer was being interviewed by Ryan Seacrest.

Ryan said: “There was a pause in the music for a little while.”

Katy replied: “Yeah that’s called taking care of your mental health.”

When he asked how that went, she joked: “Fantastic! And I haven’t shaved my head yet.”

Oh dear, whether it was intentional or not, this felt like a dig at Britney’s infamous meltdown.

Umm, it looks like she went back on her word!

After her split with Pirates of the Caribbean actor Orlando Bloom, Katy took to Twitter and addressed the rumours.

She wrote: “HOW BOUT A NEW WAY OF THINKING FOR 2017 U can still b friends & love ur former partners! No one’s a victim or a villain, get a life y’all!”

Both their representatives confirmed the split saying: “Before rumours or falsifications get out of hand we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time.”
