Katie Price wants to record charity album (with Ed Sheeran’s help!)

She's always fancied a musical career

| Updated:

Katie Price has never made any secret of her musical ambitions, having tried to represent the UK at Eurovision and released her own album.

And now she’s keen to get back into the studio for a very good cause.

The mum of five told Jason Vale’s V-Cast that she’s keen to record a new album to raise money for the British Lung Foundation.

She said: “Guess what? I’m going to bring out another album! Exclusive! Purely to raise money for the British Lung Foundation. I want to do acoustic versions.

“I don’t want to earn from it, just the British Lung Foundation.”

Katie, 40, went on to explain British Lung Foundation is close to her heart as her beloved mother Amy has the lung condition Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

She said: “Obviously my mum has an incurable lung disease. She was told last year and there’s no cure for it and no one knows the cause of it.”

Katie said she’ll start work on the album once filming commitments for her Quest Red reality show, My Crazy Life, are completed.

When asked if she’d like to collaborate with any other artists, she laughed: “I don’t think anyone would collaborate with me so I’ll do it on my own!”

Jason then suggested Ed Sheeran as a possibility, prompting Katie to say: “Yes, let’s put it out there. Ed, come on!”

Katie and her ex-husband Peter Andre released a charity duets album, A Whole New World, in 2006, and she came second in the UK’s bid to find its Eurovision entry in 2005.

She’s also released two singles, Free To Love Again and I Got U.

However, her singing attempts haven’t always been well-received…

Katie announced earlier this year that she’d silence critics of her singing by auditioning for The Voice UK, where the judges turn their backs on contestants and judge them purely on voice, not appearance.

She said on Loose Women: “I get so much stick about my singing, when I know I can sing. So if the judges turn round for me I can be like, ‘There you go! They turned round for me!'”

Katie added: “I am going to do it and it doesn’t matter me saying it as the judges won’t see me anyway. I am 100 per cent doing it.”
