Katie Price deletes controversial Instagram post

She may have been surprised by the backlash

Katie Price came under some serious fire yesterday when she appeared to post an image to Instagram placing two of her pets up for sale.

The model was looking for £1300 each for two Sphinx cats, which she had shown off on TV earlier in the year.

In the post, she explained that the cats weren’t getting on with her dogs, and needed to go to a new home.

However, after furious fan backlash, the post has now been mysteriously deleted – although Katie hasn’t made any official comment on the matter yet.

It’s still not clear whether it was a genuine post from Katie, or if her account had been compromised in some way.

Her Instagram followers were stumped when animal lover Katie posted the update, as it appeared to be out of character for her.

The picture was captioned: “Hey unfortunately I’m having to sell my cats and find good home £1300 each they are boys and been spade our dogs just don’t like them.”

Straight away, she was hit by a wave of criticism from her fans and followers, with one writing: “So tasteless to advertise this on your social media. What I don’t understand is why you can’t just let friends or relatives take care of these cats for you?”

Another wrote: “Pets can not be given for free to ensure they have a good home… but selling them on social media?? You lost a loyal follower today.”

However, others weren’t so critical, with one writing: “Feel your pain my dogs exactly the same and I adore cats… good luck!”

Another commented: “Worst thing you could do is give an animal away for free because God knows where they would end up.”

Some followers however smelled a rat, and suspected that the work wasn’t Katie’s at all – and that her account may have even been hacked.

Whether it was a mistake on Katie’s part or she did have some nefarious activity happening on her account, we’ll keep you informed!
