Listen up Great British Bake Off fans as there could be a high profile Katie taking over the popular show.

Calm down though people, it’s not Pricey heading for the Bake Off tent.

It has been reported that Katie Piper could be the one to replace Mel and Sue after signing a ‘golden handcuffs’ deal with Channel 4.

The former model has had many dealings with Love Productions, who create Bake Off, before.

She also fronts many documentaries for the channel and it seems that they want to capitalise on the good feeling towards her from viewers.

The deal that Katie has with Channel 4 will mean that she will be excluded from working with other networks but will give her the opportunity to be involved across the channel’s output.

Katie has also said that she would be interested in taking on the nation’s favourite TV programme.

She said: “I would do it – and I can bake. Though I might end up with a soggy bottom.”

Katie is no stranger to Channel 4 shows after hosting Bodyshockers since 2014.

She also delivered an Alternative Christmas Message in 2009.

This was a year after an ex-boyfriend had orchestrated an acid attack on her, leaving Katie scarred for life.

One person that has spoken about the vacant presenting slot on the cake baking show is last year’s winner Nadiya Hussain.

Nadiya has appeared as a guest Loose Women panellist as well as presenting her own documentary series for the BBC. She has now praised the show that launched her TV career and it could be somewhere she would head back to.

Speaking about The Great British Bake Off, Nadiya said: “It’s a fantastic show.

“It’s an amazing format, whatever they do, it will work.”
