Jill Duggar Ignores Derick Dillard Firing on Instagram, Fans React

Jill Duggar took to her official Instagram soon after the firing of her husband Derick Dillard from TLC’s Counting On, but not to make an official statement. Rather, she ignored the controversy entirely with a surprising photo post.

Instead of addressing Derick’s firing head-on, Jill posted a photo of the couple’s youngest son Samuel Scott in honor of his four-month birthday.

Alongside a photo of the infant, Jill wrote the following message to her followers.

“Happy baby! Look who’s 4 months old!” Jill captioned a shot of her and Derick’s 4-month-old son, garnering over 76K likes.

It’s what she didn’t say that has fans in an uproar over her ignorance of a situation that caused TLC to officially cut ties with Derick after he posted a series of comments regarding fellow TLC star, transgender teen Jazz Jennings.

“Please teach him to accept everyone and not judge like your husband,” posted one fan in a comment directed at Jill’s parenting of her two sons Samuel and Israel Dillard.

“TLC banned Derick for his ugly statements about Jazz Jennings. I’m so disappointed your support such collectivism. Every human has natural rights and your husband used religionism to try to oppress another,” said another Instagram follower.

“TLC should cancel all the Duggar shows,” said one shocked TLC viewer.

The network officially cut ties with Derick Dillard by revealing in a Twitter announcement that the show has “no plans” for feature Derick in any upcoming episodes of the show.

TLC also revealed that the reality star had not been an active participant in the series for months.

Derick opposes the lifestyle of Jazz Jennings, calling being transgender “a myth.”

In response to the controversy surrounding his firing, the former Counting On star posted a photo of Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson on October 13 with the following words superimposed over it.

“Our culture has accepted two huge lies,” read the post.

“The first is that if you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear of hate them. The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate,” concluded the post.

Robertson was famously ousted from the A&E reality show Duck Dynasty in 2013, after stating that he believed homosexuality to be a sin.

Counting On has yet to be renewed for a new season by TLC.
