James Corden reveals sex of his third child

The Late Late Show host, who "excited" about the news

TV host and comedian James Corden has revealed that he and his wife Julia Carey are expecting another daughter – but he thinks this will be their last child.

The couple are already parents to Max, five, and Carey, who turns three in October. Their third child is due in December.

“I said we would stop at number two and now we’ve got another one,” The Sun reports the Late Late Show host as saying. “We are very excited.”

“It’s a girl and I’ve already got a girl so it won’t be too much of a surprise. We both can’t wait.”

He has previously said that he and Julia have a unique way of deciding who gets up for their children in the night. He told reporters at a Vanity Fair Young Hollywood party:

“Me and my wife do rock, paper, scissors for who gets up in the night,” he said. “That happens all the time.”

James also claimed that hosting a big US TV show is easier than being a dad. “What’s more scary? Being a father, no question,” he said.

“It’s just a TV show. It all pales into insignificance.”

James recently picked up the Best Variety Special award at the Creative Arts Emmys for his Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special.

“I’m here with my wife and she’s five months pregnant,” he told E! News.

“So it’s mostly just thinking of places I could hide snacks. That’s all I’m really doing. I walk around thinking, ‘Where could I hide snacks?’ Because she’s gonna get hungry every seven minutes.”

The TV host drew criticism for kissing former White House press secretary Sean Spicer at the Emmys party. He later apologised.

“To be fair, everyone was kissing ass that night,” he said during an opening monologue on this show. “I just happened to kiss the biggest one there.”

“Understandably, some people have been disappointed by this photo,” he said. “In truth, I’m disappointed as well.

“I’ve been reading a lot of harsh comments on Twitter and I hear you, I really do.”
