Jake Quickenden’s car crashes as he tries to get to DOI rehearsals in a blizzard

He spun out of control on the icy roads.

Jake Quickenden would have been better off trying to skate to his Dancing On Ice rehearsals today.

The reality TV star warned his fans to be careful outside after his car crashed in the treacherous conditions as the country is battered by Storm Emma.

The 29-year-old singer was on his way to rehearse at the ITV studios in Hertfordshire with Kem Cetinay when his car spun out of control on the icy roads.

He tweeted: “Be careful if you’re out in the snow, had a nightmare morning, skidded going life 5mph and bumped another car that was broken down, everyone ok, but the roads are tragic so please be careful!!”

Jake also kept his fans up to date with his journey on his Instagram stories, revealing he and Kem were forced to abandon trying to drive to rehearsals and had to walk instead.

He said they were both fine following their car collision but he had a little whiplash.

“We’ve had a nightmare, there’s cars spinning out left, right and centre,” he said as he filmed a live video from his snowy scene. “I hate driving in the snow, we have spun out.”

Luckily for the pair, they were then able to “hitchhike” a lift from a woman who passed them in her Range Rover.

They then walked the final section up to the studios, which are in a rural location, with Jake saying he was so cold he had put socks on his hands!

Poor Kem then took a tumble on the ice as they continued to make their way much to Jake’s delight – but better today than in the semi-final on Sunday, Kem!

When Jake finally made it into the warm, he updated his story again to say: “What a crazy, crazy morning. I just want to say everyone needs to be so careful in the snow. It’s a nightmare. If you are driving just be careful because it’s carnage.

“I have never seen anything like this before, it won’t stop blizzarding.”

He admitted he hopes they won’t get stranded at the studio tonight but he “had to put the work in” to rehearse with his professional partner Vanessa Bauer.

Hopefully his dedication to get to training despite the bad weather will pay off in this Sunday’s semi-final.

Jake is currently the hot favourite to win the show outright if he can continue to impress the viewers and judges.
