Hollyoaks’ Rachel Adedeji finally reveals baby’s name – and the sweet reason behind it

Keeping it in the family

They grow up so fast, don’t they?

We remember when Rachel Adedeji was being introduced as a teenaged X Factor hopeful in 2009 – almost a decade ago!

But the 26-year-old singer and Hollyoaks actress welcomed a newborn baby just before Christmas, with husband Jason Finegan.

The star let fans know about the happy news on Christmas Day, but kept everyone guessing as to the sex and name of the tot.

But now the secret’s out, with Rachel revealing in the new issue of OK! magazine that the baby girl’s full name is Lillian Oluremi Adedeji-Finegan.

And Jason explained there was a beautiful reason behind the name: “My late nan was called Lillian and we both really liked the name.”

In their exclusive chat with OK, the soap actress, who plays Lisa Loveday in Hollyoaks, said she was over the moon to be a mum but nobody warned her about the “baby blues”.

“The struggle is so real and I think people try to paint it as perfect; I’d rather people just be honest about it,” she said.

“For me, it was just crying all the time at first, but it’s gone now.”

Rachel urged anyone in a similar situation to talk about it with others rather than bottle it up.

The full interview with OK! mag is available now.

She and husband Jason got married in Buckinghamshire two years ago and the pair said last year they were “overjoyed” to be starting a family.

“We can’t wait to be parents,” Rachel told Closer.

And she’s just the latest Hollyoaks star to have a baby, following Jennifer and Chelsee Healey who both became first-time mums last year.

Jen welcomed her little one Daye with her partner Greg Lake in June and Chelsee Healey gave birth to little Coco in July.
