Cheryl and Liam ponder traditional and neutral baby names

It's so normal for a celeb child

Have Cheryl and Liam already chosen their baby’s name?

While the couple didn’t reveal the name of their son when they announced his birth, they had previously given some clues.

Celebrities are known for choosing unusual monikers for their children, but Cheryl has favoured traditional names in the past.

“Of course I’ve thought about baby names a million times,” she said in an interview with GQ two years ago. “I like Alfie for a little boy.”

In the same year, Liam told Hits Radio: “I like the name Taylor. Taylor’s pretty neutral for a boy or a girl. That’s what I’m going to call my first child if I have children.

He then joked that his One Direction bandmates were like babies. “It’s like having four of them!”

Cheryl’s best friend Kimberley Walsh has sons Bobby, two, and Cole, four months.

Nadine was the first of the Girls Aloud stars to become a mum – her daughter Anaiya is now three. Anaíya (pronouced ah nah YAH), is said to be a Hebrew name meaning “God has answered” and a West Indian name meaning “she who brings sunshine”.

Kimberley had previously said that Cheryl would be a “brilliant mum”. Cheryl was one of the first to visit when Cole was born.

“She came the next day and was desperate to meet him,” said Kimberley. “She loved him. She lives nearby, which is really nice. They had lovely cuddles.”

Kimberley says that Cheryl will take to the role of mum quite easily. “She has loads of nieces and nephews, so she’s used to the madness of children.

“Both she and Nicola [Roberts] are naturally good with kids. I think they’ve both always planned to settle down and have a family.”

Cheryl herself has said: “I love kids, I’m obsessed with babies.

“I know this is what I was put on earth to do – to be a mother.
