While the cause of her death is currently unknown, TMZ reports that she was found “unresponsive” on Saturday in Indiana.

A statement was released by police to E! News, which read: “On April 22, 2017, at approximately 4.07pm, The Harrison County Sherriff’s Department received a 911 call that referenced an unresponsive female.

“Upon arrival of first responders, it was determined that Erin Marie Moran Fleischmann was deceased and an autopsy is pending.”

Happy Days ran from 1974 until 1983 and it depicted life in the mid-1950s to 1960s.

Erin starred as Hollywood director Ron Howard’s little sister in the iconic show. She was just 14-years-old at the time she was cast.

Ron was one of the first to post a tribute to Twitter: “Such sad sad news” he wrote.

And Henry Winkler, who played the show’s most recognisable character, The Fonz, also expressed his upset on the social media site.

He wrote: “OH Erin… now you will finally have the peace you wanted so badly here on earth”.

Erin had reportedly fallen on hard times in recent years after she and her husband were allegedly kicked out of the trailer park home because of their hard-partying ways.
