Grieving Carol Vorderman smiling again and she lands herself hot younger man

Tattooed construction worker has been a "rock" since her mum's death

There was always something about Carol Vorderman when she appeared on Countdown back in the day.

That knowing smile, those figure-hugging dresses, the way that she used to reel off those mathematical equations in about five seconds flat.

So it’s hardly surprising that the brain-box has her fair share of potential suitors.

And it seems the 56-year-old has landed herself another hunk – tattooed construction worker Cas Neill, 49.

Only last year, the former Loose Women host and fitness fanatic seemed to suggest that she was through with men following her break-up from Red Arrows pilot Graham ‘Duffy’ Duff – a man 14 years her junior.

She said at the time: “I’m happily single, freely independent and doing my own thing.

“I’m not opposed to going out with someone ten years younger; it’s acceptable. But Duffy was 14 years younger – that was a bit silly, really.”

However, she looked to have rekindled her interest in dating as she stepped out with divorcee Cas at the Aerospace Bristol museum, of which she’s an ambassador.

Cas – who’s been a friend of Carol’s for years – is only seven years her junior, fitting into the presenter’s “acceptable” bracket. But his personality apparently fits her to a tee, too.

“It’s still early days but they’re really good together, and are always laughing,” a supposed close friend said.

“Cas is completely laid-back and relaxed, which is exactly what Carol needs. He’s incredibly supportive, and totally happy to let Carol do her thing.

“More importantly, he knows all her friends and family, and was an absolute rock when her mum recently passed away.”

Good for Carol. She deserves to have someone putting a smile on her face again, as she navigates her grief.

Her beloved mum Jean passed away in June. The former Loose Women panellist paid tribute on Twitter, announcing her death after the funeral.

“Some days are tough, today was one of them. Today was my amazing Mum’s funeral,” she wrote.

“Rest In Peace Jean Vorderman. You will always be loved.”
