George Clooney’s son has his nose and the twins both have dark hair.
That’s what the movie star’s father Nick says about his new grandchildren – Alexander and Ella who were born in London on Tuesday.
The 83-year-old former journalist says he met Clooney’s babies on Skype shortly after they were born.
And Nick says all four – especially his daughter-in-law Amal – are doing well.
“Really well and Amal, who is Superwoman, she is just amazing and she was guiding the narration,” he told Cincinnati’s FOX 19 in a telephone interview.
“This was… two hours after the babies were born and she was in charge of the conversation. She was just great.”
When it comes to the twins, he says they are “beautiful”.
Nick said: “[Amal] was telling us last week that she is as big as a house. Of course, for her, that’s a very small house. But she’s great.”
He added, jokingly: “George, well, his eyes were glazed so I’m not sure that he was sober. We’ll figure that out.
“Now that’s a joke. That part’s a joke.”
Nick then revealed that he and his wife Nina sometimes didn’t think their 56-year-old son would ever have children, agreeing that he waited a long time to be a dad.
“And Nina and I both had moments when we weren’t sure that it would ever happen,” the proud grandfather said.
“Nina was sure that it would and I, at the end.
“But by golly, when we met Amal, we got that figured out in a hurry. Just as I, George married up. I did and so did he.”
Nick couldn’t stop gushing about the twins that Clooney had with his 39-year-old human rights attorney wife.
“They are gorgeous,” he said. “Nina swears they have George’s nose. I don’t know what that means.”
Then he quickly corrected himself, saying: “Nina’s yelling at me. She says not both of them, one of them. The little boy looked like he had his nose….
“So that sounds like a grandmother to me. And I love their names – Alexander and Ella.”
He added: “They have dark hair. They look great. And both George and Amal are doing well.
“Amal is doing terrifically well and now, at long last, so are we.”
